About Kristie Ryan

The founder and president of KMR Make-Up Academy, Kristie Ryan is a highly skilled makeup artist and aesthetician with years of experience in the entertainment and beauty industries. During the course of her career, she has worked with a variety of people, such as actors, producers, directors, photographers, models, and brides-to-be.

Her experience encompasses all facets of the make-up industry, including movies, television, commercials, music videos, runway/fashion, magazines, special events, black & white and color head shots, as well as teen, bridal, and period make-up.

Kristie began her career in 1989, after graduating from a renowned make-up academy in Hollywood. One of her first jobs was working on contract for Warner Brothers.

She then relocated to San Francisco to continue plying her skills in the entertainment business as a make-up artist for Tec TV, Spoonfed Productions, and Genesis Production.

In 1992, she moved to Monterey, California, and has worked successfully as a make-up artist and aesthetician, freelancing for resorts, spas, production companies, and photographers, ever since.

Kristie opened KMR Make-up Academy in 2007, with the desire to share her expertise and to help others excel as professional make-up artists. She designs all courses with the intent to inspire her students and to impart the technical and practical knowledge she has gained from years of working in the business.

Kristie is licensed and bonded with National Skin Care Association (NSCA) and licensed through Board of Barbering and Cosmetology of California.
